The goal of member service is to sign up members of the community for ozone action day alerts. The AmeriCorps member will educate and gain community trust and inform on the negative effects ozone can have on one’s health. This program will identify and prioritize lower-income and minority communities based on an equity map that has been created by the City of San Antonio's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Accessibility Department. The goal of the Ozone Program is to improve air quality in San Antonio and Bexar County while providing the public with information on the negative health aspects of ground-level ozone and ways to lower ozone. The AmeriCorps member will assist with outreach, coordination, and planning activities for the Ozone Program through the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
